67 fish * 5 minute average (that's low balling it) = 335 minutes of casting and catching the "big fish" of North Carolina. I need sixty seven 20lb fish to advance to Florida. Just how much work would a guy have to do to achieve that? If my average, 20lb Flathead yields 150xp (rounded for easy math) that takes 3-5 minutes to reel in after a 2 minute wait, how many flatheads do I need to catch, and how long will I spend doing it?Ħ7. I decided to see how far away level 16 was since I just hit 15 late last week. The player would still have to work hard and save to buy gold items, but the inappropriate pressure that gold item deterioration creates would be aleviated. It set in late last night, as I was slammin my favorite catfish hole in North Carolina. If you are going to keep things as they are, then why not make all repairs in regular credits rather than gold. As well, there are a lot of species that don't feature uniques and areas that are devoid of uniques - why not alter that so that the possibility of catching uniques exists in all areas. Could you make uniques take the same baits as normal fish and appear in normal fishing areas - simply harder to catch (like rainbow uniques in Oregon). if giving a gold piece for a trophy is too much, you could create an achievment where a gold piece was awarded for three trophy fish of the same species (or something like that).ĭespite the soul deadening grind for massive numbers of normal and trophy fish in order to level - in many cases, you have to stop your regular fishing in order to target uniques. Why not give small amounts of gold for trophy fish. Grinding uniques for gold is tedious at best, and a game killer at worst - espcieally in the face of the rate of deterioration and repair costs of gold purchased intems.
